Well what a great day we have had! We logged our 200th geocache today (GCM2FN) which was located on the Palmetto Trail in a little township called Glenn Springs. Nice cache, nothing spectacular just a really nice trail in the woods. Afterwards, a nice drive home with the windows out of the Jeep. But, when we got home, in the mailbox, there it was, something we have tried for two years to get. A CONFIRMED RESERVATION FOR A NIGHT IN THE LODGE ATOP MT. LECONTE!!!!!!! You can only get reservations by lottery, folks from all over the world apply. Ours is in July '08. Mt. LeConte is a primitive resort atop one of the highest peaks in the Great Smokey Mountains.. The only way in is by foot via one of several trails.
We will take the Alum Cave Trail @ 5.5 miles.
