Abandoned nest / Owl pellet

While walking around in the woods behind the house today I found these two jewels.

An abandoned bird nest, layered with grasses, straw & feathers.

A owl pellet. When a owl or other raptors eat their prey, they are not able to digest bones, feathers or fur. The raptor will regurgitate what it can not digest. The regurgitated waste is called a pellet. This pellet appears to contain the bones and fur of some type of rodent.
