Atlantic Puffins

In early July, while vacationing in Maine, we took a Audubon guided boat excursion out to Eastern Egg Rock to the Atlantic Puffins that breed there.

Seas were choppy, making it a challenge for quality photos, but we were able to get a few shots in.

Eastern Egg Rock is the southern most point these birds breed.    The story of the Atlantic Puffins on Eastern Egg Rock is a amazing one.  Through the tireless efforts of scientists and the National Audubon Society, the birds are again thriving here.

You can read about this wonderful success story here: Project Puffin
